4 New 'Avengers: Endgame' Scenes Set Up 'Doomsday'

Marvel Studios has reintroduced Avengers: Endgame to theaters with a "Encore" edition, which adds approximately four minutes of previously unseen footage. These scenes are intended to bridge the conclusion of the Infinity Saga with the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, set to release in December. The "Encore" edition includes four new scenes designed to link the end of Endgame with Doomsday's storyline.Two of the new scenes feature Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston.

The first scene extends the film's ending by showing Loki, who wears a Time Variance Authority (TVA) uniform, knocking on Peggy Carter's door while Steve Rogers reunites with her. Loki then reveals that he can help Peggy instead, indicating that he is aware of Steve's location. The second scene, set in a military facility, follows Bruce Banner as he records a video diary detailing his work on a gamma-suppression project.

When a green glow appears and the facility's lights flicker, Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., appears off-camera to collect Banner. Banner's recording is cut off, and when the camera returns, only glowing symbols remain on the floor. These scenes suggest that Hulk could play a role in Doomsday, though the footage does not clarify the reason for Doom's interest in Banner or the aftermath of his kidnapping.The third and fourth scenes involve Doctor Doom and the TVA (Time Variance Authority).

The TVA investigation focuses on collisions between different realities, with Earth-10005 being associated with the X-Men universe from Fox, which is linked to Doomsday. As more universes experience incursions, the TVA realizes that thousands of universes are affected by this crisis. Finally, the final scene reworks the sound of metal being hammered from the end of Avengers: Endgame, connecting Doctor Doom's forging of his mask to his former role as Tony Stark.

These new scenes collectively turn the conclusion of Endgame into a direct setup for Avengers: Doomsday, linking key characters and storylines to the multiverse crisis that will drive the upcoming film. Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in the United States on December 18 and in the UK on December 16.
