35,000 take part in Pink Power Run 3.0 in Hyderabad for breast cancer awareness

Around 35,000 individuals took part in the third edition of the Pink Power Run in Hyderabad on Sunday. The event aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer, promote preventive healthcare, early detection, and women's empowerment. Organized jointly by Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) and the Sudha Reddy Foundation, the race took place at HMDA Grounds near Prasads.

It featured four distance categories: 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km races. Participants came from various age groups and backgrounds, with runners even coming from over a dozen countries, including the U.S., U.K., UAE, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Iceland, Tanzania, Botswana, Kenya, and Canada. Among the participants was Ramabai Ranveer, a 47-year-old woman from Ambajogai in Maharashtra's Beed district, who had previously run a 5 km barefoot to support her children's education.

The event saw victory in the men's and women's categories for the 21-km half marathon, 10-km, 5-km, and 3-km races, with winners receiving cash prizes totaling ₹75 lakh. The Pink Power Run aimed to create a platform for women to come together, raise awareness about breast cancer, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
