2027: Abia stakeholders mobilise support for Otti’s re-election

The Alliance for Good Governance in Abia North has pledged unwavering support for Governor Alex Otti's re-election bid, extending beyond the year 2031. At a meeting held at the Isieke Civic Centre in Bende Local Government Area on Saturday, group Secretary and spokesperson, Prof Mkpa Mkpa, announced the group's commitment to ensuring the continuation of good governance in the state, which he deemed exceptional under Otti's administration.

The stakeholders resolved that good governance is a continuous process, with the next generation of Abia leaders set to build upon the initiatives initiated by the Otti-led government. The group emphasized the importance of voter education, particularly among the less literate, and urged the youth not to be swayed by opposition pressures or inducements.

The alliance, non-partisan and representing the elders of Abia North, urged all stakeholders to actively participate in ensuring Otti's second term in office. Former State Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah, and renowned economist Urum Eke, among others, also spoke at the gathering, highlighting the need for Abians to break new ground in governance for future terms.
