2026 Asian Games: Indonesia Finishes Sixth in Women's Street Skateboarding Final

Indonesian skateboarder Ni Wayan Malana Fairbrother secured a sixth-place finish in the women's street event at the 2026 Asian Games, concluding with a total score of 136.97 points. Performing first, she scored 8.04 in her opening run. China's Zhu Yuanling made an early impact with a commanding score of 74.56, followed by Japan's Ibuki Matsumoto, who ultimately claimed the top place with 75.08 points.

During her second run, Malana exhibited her skateboarding skills, executing a series of tricks—like a kickflip and a backflip—earning a score of 51.55. South Korea's Jiyul Shin came in third with 67.51 points after her second run. Matsumoto then delivered another robust performance, scoring 79.03 points on her second run, solidifying her lead.

Transitioning to the third run, Malana's score improved with her best trick score of 61.28, showcasing her adaptability. Zhu Yuanling then scored a high 79.73 on her third run, overtaking the podium. Japan's Oda Yumeka also impressed, securing a provisional third-place with a score of 71.21 in her third run.

Malana's early run on the trick session didn't go as planned, as she failed to land her move. However, she rebounded, successfully executing another trick to score 75.69. Despite this, she failed to land her final trick, resulting in a total score of 136.97 and a sixth-place finish. Zhu Yuanling emerged victorious with a total score of 166.57, followed by Oda Yumeka in silver with 161.96 points and Cui Chenxi in bronze with 156.60 points.

Malana had initially qualified for the final on Saturday after amassing a total score of 101.61 in the pre-elimination phase. Her scores comprised 36.46 points from her first run, 37.52 from her second run, and 64.10 from her second trick. The final round allowed athletes 45 seconds to perform three runs and three tricks, offering more chances than the previous phase.
