Zoe Harrison’s last-gasp intercept try seals England win over Black Ferns in WXV rugby

In a thrilling WXV women's rugby match at Twickenham on Saturday, England emerged victorious with a final score of 26-19 over their archrival New Zealand. The decisive moment came in the 81st minute when Zoe Harrison intercepted Amy du Plessis, preventing a Black Ferns try and sealing the win for England.

England, on a 40-match unbeaten run, had looked poised for a second consecutive draw after finishing with Canada in a 26-26 draw earlier in the week. However, unlike Canada, the No. 2-ranked Black Ferns opted for victory instead of a draw in the 81st minute from their 22.

The Black Ferns dominated possession and territory throughout the game, leading 12-7 at halftime. However, their inability to capitalize on numerous chances proved costly. England's forward Kaipo Olsen-Baker and winger Ayesha Leti-I’iga made significant impacts with their runs, while the Red Roses were spearheaded by No. 8 Maddie Feaunati and captain Megan Jones.

England took an early lead when fullback Ellie Kildunne intercepted Braxton Sorensen-McGee and gifted winger Claudia Moloney-MacDonald her fourth try this month. New Zealand attempted a comeback, spending 10 minutes in England's half, but ultimately wasted the opportunity until du Plessis managed to kick the ball into empty space and score a try, leaving everyone in pursuit.
