Zaniolo out of Italy squad for Nations League games

Udinese player Nicolò Zaniolo has been excluded from Italy's training camp after suffering a hamstring injury, preventing him from participating in the Nations League matches against Turkiye and France. Once considered a likely starter in Italy's previous defeat to Belgium, Zaniolo was not even considered for the bench. The forward's injury has not improved since being reported last month, leading to his decision to return to his club for treatment and thus rule him out of upcoming matches.

Zaniolo is now the latest player to withdraw from the Azzurri squad, following earlier absences of Federico Dimarco and Bryan Cristante, who were replaced by Matteo Ruggeri and Samuele Ricci. Italy's remaining players, including Marco Palestra, are either injured or not part of Roberto Mancini's squad list. Italy is set to continue their Nations League campaign with games against Turkiye on September 28 and France on October 2, concluding with another match against Turkiye on October 5 at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna.
