Your Criticisms of Our Party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Can’t Wipe Away Tinubu’s Under Performance, ADC Tells APC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesman, Felix Morka, for his attacks on the recently appointed members of the APC presidential campaign council. The ADC's spokesman, Dele Momodu, accused Morka's remarks of being an attempt to "conduct a trial by insult." Atiku Abubakar, the APC presidential candidate, named former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as the Deputy Chairman of the party's presidential campaign council, despite Morka's claims that the council was "dead on arrival of political dead woods."

The ADC's Director of Strategic Communications, Phrank Shaibu, stated that Morka's insults could not answer the concerns of Nigerians regarding the rising costs of food, fuel, transport, and electricity. Shaibu added that Morka's warning to keep Atiku away from the national treasury was a "remarkable sermon" from the party of a president whose accounts were the subject of a United States' forfeiture case.

The case involved narcotics trafficking allegations and resulted in the forfeiture of $460,000 from an account in Tinubu's name.

Shaibu pointed out that Tinubu's financial dealings involved specific connections, such as the introduction of Tinubu to First Heritage Bank by Adegboyega Mueez Akande and the transfer of $80,000 to Akande's wife, Audrey, via a cashier's cheque. He also noted that Oluremi Tinubu held a joint checking account with her husband and had previously held another joint account with Audrey Akande.

The ADC challenged the APC to provide explanations regarding inconsistencies in Tinubu's educational records and requested the fullest lawful disclosure of relevant records to shed light on his financial history.
