Yemeni armed forces warn Houthis turning Red Sea airspace into threat zone

Yemen's military has warned that Houthi actions have transformed the southern Red Sea airspace into a serious threat to civilian flights, calling it a dangerous escalation. Colonel Majid Abdullah Al-Nazili, the official spokesperson for the armed forces, stated that the Houthis have made this airspace a danger zone for civilian aircraft, posing a grave danger.

The military's official statement emphasized that this threat extends beyond Yemeni airspace and poses a risk to international air navigation as well. Al-Nazili pointed out that the use of Iranian weapons from Yemeni territory constitutes a direct threat to global air safety and security. He stressed that this issue cannot be viewed as purely Yemeni, but rather as a threat to worldwide safety that demands a responsible and firm response from relevant authorities, particularly the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Air Transport Association.
