Wake Forest scores an upset on the road, takes down No. 16 Louisville 30-27

Wake Forest secured an upset victory over No. 16 Louisville with a final score of 30-27 on Saturday. Conn Calvert was instrumental in the win, kicking three field goals, including the game-winning 32-yarder with 6:20 left on the clock. Gio Lopez was the Demon Deacons' primary passer, completing 12 of 19 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown while Gio Lopez also ran for a touchdown.

Carlos Hernandez was a key receiver for Wake Forest, catching 9 out of 19 passes for 194 yards, just three yards shy of his career-high set against Delaware last season. Ty Clark III contributed 91 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Louisville's defense was significantly weakened without two starting defensive backs, allowing Calvert, Lopez, and Hernandez to capitalize on their mistakes.

Louisville managed to tie the game with a 77-yard touchdown pass from Kienholz to Skinner, but Carson Hilbert answered with a 41-yard field goal. Despite Nick Keller's blocked 57-yard field goal attempt with 15 seconds left, Wake Forest held on for their second straight upset win in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
