US Rep raises alarm over attacks, killing of Christians in Plateau

U.S. Representative Anna Paulina has expressed concern over a surge in attacks and murders of Christians in Plateau State, perpetrated by Fulani ethnic militia terrorists and Islamist extremists. In a recent statement shared on her official X account, Paulina highlighted the inadequate responses from both state and federal governments to protect Christians from the repeated assaults they face.

The representative's post, titled "What is happening in Nigeria right now?", condemned the risk thousands of Christians in Plateau are currently enduring as security forces struggle to curb the violence. Paulina claimed that Fulani ethnic militia terrorists descended on Christian communities in Plateau State, leaving hundreds of civilians in mortal danger.

The attacks were preceded by several violent incidents targeting Christians and other citizens in the region. One pastor and his church secretary were fatally shot while en route to church, while five Christians were ambushed while traveling in a vehicle. Additionally, a civilian guard was killed outside his home, and a man and his son were severely beaten, leaving the latter in critical condition.

Paulina questioned why security agencies had not heeded previous warnings and alerts issued prior to the attacks.
