Urban Development Minister Addresses Uttar Pradesh Fourth International Trade Show Organised At Expo Mart

Greater Noida hosted the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show, where Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma addressed solid waste management as a burgeoning business opportunity. He highlighted the creation of new industries and employment in sectors such as CBG, Waste-to-Energy, Biofuel, Recycling and Re-processing.

The minister stressed on the need for scientific and systematic waste management to ensure cleaner, more beautiful and healthier cities. Sharma noted that several cities in Uttar Pradesh have ranked well in the Swachh Vayu Survekshan, a cleanliness survey. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is committed to providing citizens with superior facilities and a clean environment.

Waste management extends beyond cleanliness; it's pivotal for city health, environment, economy and future generations. Sharma underscored that through efficient waste management, cities can be kept clean while simultaneously contributing to environmental protection and pollution control. He referenced the success of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, transforming it into a nationwide movement, and emphasized the need for modern technology, better management systems and public participation to move forward.

He specifically mentioned the Solid Waste Processing Plant and Prerna Sthal in Shivri, Lucknow, as examples of effective waste management.
