UiTM Holdings ada pelan pemulihan susulan kerugian RM157 juta, kata pengerusi

UiTM Holdings, a Malaysian institution, is preparing a plan to recover losses amounting to around RM157 million, according to its chairman Fathul Bari Mat Jahya. The chairman has explained that the recovery plan, which has been put forward multiple times through various administrative channels, including the University Council (LPU), is currently focused on alignment and implementation.

He acknowledged that the losses are not new and have accumulated since 2007, forming a "trust deficit" in UiTM Holdings. However, he stressed that this deficit should not be inherited without an end, pointing out that the leadership has changed. He further emphasized that the management of UiTM Holdings is being strengthened, and the performance of the leadership should now be evaluated based on integrity, execution, and results.

Earlier, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had directed UiTM to conduct an audit of its management and governance of UiTM Holdings, addressing concerns regarding the losses incurred by the company. Anwar stated that the audit should be carried out in cooperation with UiTM's deputy chancellor and the Prime Minister's Department, which would provide support if needed.

Fathul explained that the recovery of UiTM Holdings requires collaboration between the LPU, management institutions, and relevant companies to translate goals and decisions into action. He added that UiTM Holdings should be viewed as part of the UiTM ecosystem, as the performance of the company ultimately impacts the university.

"If UiTM Holdings is strong, it ultimately benefits UiTM. If it remains weak, UiTM also bears the consequences," he stated. He also mentioned that the recovery plan is already in place, and what is needed now is alignment, decision-making, and implementation across the UiTM ecosystem.
