Transport General Authority launches English testing platform for maritime sector

Saudi Arabia's Transport General Authority has launched an English language testing platform specifically for workers in the maritime sector. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the National Maritime Academy, aims to evaluate and improve professionals' specialized maritime English skills. The authority's statement on X reads that starting in 2027, all relevant groups will be required to pass the English test on the platform.

This move is intended to establish standardized language proficiency benchmarks, boost workforce preparedness, and cultivate skills necessary to meet the demands of the maritime industry.
