Tragedy on Spain’s Montgó as Swiss cyclist dies suddenly during ride

A tragic incident has occurred on Spain's Montgó Natural Park, where a 55-year-old Swiss cyclist died suddenly while riding along the popular Carretera de Les Planes route. The cyclist, who was born in 1971, was cycling between Dénia and Javea when he suddenly suffered a medical emergency. Emergency services, including a SAMU medical unit, were called to the scene in the Dénia section of the road, where they attempted resuscitation efforts.

Despite their efforts, the cyclist could not be saved and died at the roadside. The judicial commission has been notified to handle the body and conduct further investigations. The Carretera de Les Planes is a well-known route for cyclists, connecting the two Costa Blanca towns and passing through the Montgó Natural Park.
