They plan to gag me on social media over South-East road projects – Umahi

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has alleged a conspiracy to silence him on social media due to road projects in the South-East region of Nigeria. Umahi made these remarks while refuting claims that he had monopolized federal road projects for the South-East. He highlighted this during an inspection of the Trans-Sahara Highway, which stretches from Afikpo in Ebonyi State, crosses Ado in Benue State, reaches Nsukka, parts of Kogi State, and concludes at the Owete Bridge in the Federal Capital Territory.

Umahi stated, "They want to gag me on social media when they say I cornered all the road projects to the South-East. That is very wonderful." He emphasized that this allegation was unfounded as there is a comprehensive publication of all ongoing projects. Umahi further added, "So, I'm not on my own. The President is my boss. So, where will he be when I corner our projects to the South-East?"

He addressed the discontent of some individuals who were unhappy about the South-East finally receiving their fair share of infrastructure development. Umahi clarified, "There is nothing like that." He reiterated that while the South-East may not be the top or even the second in infrastructure development, it certainly will not be last.
