The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Extended Clip Reveals Closer Look at Ganondorf

Nintendo has recently released a short clip showcasing a more in-depth look at the infamous villain Ganondorf in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Fans with the Nintendo Today! app on their mobile devices were presented with additional footage from the highly anticipated game on September 25, 2026. The 16-second clip reveals how Nintendo plans to reimagine one of gaming's most iconic villains for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Ganondorf, a member of the Gerudo tribe, is said to be born only once every hundred years. The official Nintendo text mentions his ambition to acquire the Triforce, a powerful artifact rumored to grant wishes to those who possess it. The extended clip further demonstrates Ganondorf's infamous presence during a dream sequence, as he rides horseback while a voiceover narrates, "And now… An evil has appeared, yearning after that power."

Although the footage is technically familiar territory, it does contain some alterations to the original scene. The Switch 2 version of the scene now runs in slow motion, contrasting with the standard speed seen in the previous Nintendo 64 and 3DS remake versions. While the change is minor, it highlights the various tweaks Nintendo has made to this classic game. The November release date for the Switch 2 version has been set for November 5, 2026.
