The boxer who accidentally became an actor

Javon Walton grew up performing under bright lights, switching between boxing and gymnastics. Growing up, boxing was his obsession, eventually leading him to a successful professional career. At the age of 20, Walton is now better known as Ashtray, the tattooed teenage drug dealer in HBO's Euphoria. Recently, Walton made headlines by fighting against former two-weight UFC champion and Olympic wrestling gold medallist Henry Cejudo in a Misfits Boxing event in Miami.

Walton's foray into acting began when he showcased his boxing skills on Steve Harvey's television show at the age of 11, which caught the attention of casting director Jennifer Venditti. This led to Walton's audition for Euphoria, which ultimately opened the door to a thriving acting career. Walton has since appeared in Amazon's drama Utopia, Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, and even worked with Sylvester Stallone in Samaritan.

Now, Walton faces the challenge of balancing his two careers. Boxing demands an eight-week camp and complete focus, while filming can take him away for six months at a time. Walton's goal is to balance both, but he often has to prioritize one career over the other. Despite the challenges, Walton remains committed to his boxing career, with his professional debut scheduled against Cejudo on Saturday.
