Selesai formula satu pertiga sebelum tambah kerusi, kata Nancy

Perdana Menteri Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim stated that the government needs to resolve the one-third formula for Sabah and Sarawak representation in the Dewan Rakyat before adding any additional seats. Nancy Shukri, the Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, attended a motivational program and academic exhibition at UiTM Sarawak Branch in Kuching today.

The issue has already been highlighted by several Sarawak leaders, including Jemaah Menteri, in collaboration with the Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, Nancy Shukri. She spoke about this issue with Minister of Youth and Sports Alexander Nanta Linggi, while discussing the formula one-third at a press conference.

Nancy emphasized that the method of implementing the one-third formula requires further discussion and examination in terms of legislation. She also mentioned that further discussions regarding determining the appropriate method are to be held between the Sarawak Chief Minister and the Chief Minister of Sabah, along with the federal government.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reportedly said that the government agreed in principle to increase the representation ratio for Sabah and Sarawak in the Dewan Rakyat, which is consistent with the state's position in the formation of Malaysia under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). The final decision on this matter was approved during the MA63 Action Implementation Council meeting.
