Russian attack kills two women, injures 4-year-old boy and man

A Russian drone attack in Zaporizhzhya early on September 26 resulted in the deaths of two women and injuries to a 4-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man, according to regional officials. The drone strike destroyed a private house in the city, causing a fire that prompted a search for trapped occupants. The bodies of the women were later discovered amidst the rubble.

Ivan Fedorov, co-chair of the Zaporizhzhya Oblast Defense Council, confirmed that four individuals were present in the house at the time of the attack. The 4-year-old boy and the 45-year-old man were among the survivors, suffering injuries. Other residential and non-residential buildings sustained damage, and fires erupted at the strike sites.

This attack occurred on the same day as a previous Russian strike on September 25, which damaged medical facilities, residential structures, garages, vehicles, and ambulances in the area. Emergency responders evacuated seven patients, including those with mobility limitations, from one of the affected medical facilities and extinguished a fire within the building.

Additionally, a large-scale drone attack on Zaporizhzhya took place overnight into September 21, targeting residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the city center. The assault caused damage to apartment buildings, a shopping center, and a university building, resulting in six civilian injuries.
