Rotary Club of Agege Installs Ogundeji 43rd President, Secures over N700m Projects

The Rotary Club of Agege has elected Rotarian Abiola Ogundeji as its 43rd President for the 2026/2027 Rotary year. The inauguration ceremony took place in Lagos, attended by District Governor Bukola Olabisi Bakare and other dignitaries. Ogundeji, a multimedia and broadcast technology consultant, joined the club in 2021 and previously served as a membership chair.

Ogundeji outlined his priorities, emphasizing membership growth and community projects, with an aim to benefit at least 5,000 direct beneficiaries. These beneficiaries would be reached through vocational skills development, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects, and expanded malaria interventions. Additionally, the club plans to establish a vocational and digital skills training center and acquire land for its flagship humanitarian project.

The club has secured over ₦750 million in commitments for these humanitarian projects. The DSE Foundation pledged ₦690 million towards three initiatives, including the vocational center. Past Assistant Governor Bala Yesufu announced the pledge on behalf of its Chairman and Founder, Chief Tunde Fanimokun. Rotarian Wale Adebiyi also contributed ₦10 million towards the projects.

President-elect Demola Igbalajobi pledged that the funds raised would be used to execute proposed vocational and digital skills training centers and practical community projects. The new administration, under the theme "Evolution," will focus on deepening the club's impact in Agege through practical projects, strengthening member engagement and growth, and maintaining Rotary values of integrity, fellowship, and service above self.
