Revocation of Negeri Sembilan Exco appointments valid – Attorney General

On Thursday, the revocation of the appointments of 10 Negeri Sembilan executive council members was gazetted, according to Bernama. The Attorney-General, Dusuki Mokhtar, has declared the revocation's validity, stating that it adheres to Article 38(5) of the state's constitution, as reported by Sinar Harian. Under Article 38(5), an exco member, except the menteri besar, holds their position at the pleasure of the Yang Dipertuan Besar.

The Negeri Sembilan administration notified the revocation of the 10 exco members' appointments on Thursday, with their dismissals taking effect on September 20. The gazette declared their appointments revoked and annulled due to their breach of the pledge of allegiance to the Yang Dipertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. The 10 individuals who lost their positions are Umno's Mustapha Nagoor, Faizal Ramli, Zaiful Bahri Idris, Razi Ali, Asna Amin, Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, and Suhaimizan Bizar.

Additionally, MCA's Siow Kong Choon, PAS's Fairuz Isa, and Razali Abu Samah of Wawasan are among the former exco members. Their dismissals occurred a week after they released a statement allegedly confirming Tuanku Muhriz's removal as Yang Dipertuan Besar. This statement was later endorsed by Menteri besar Ismail Lasim. However, the state's Dewan Keadilan dan Undang, alongside the Attorney-General's Chambers, contested the statement.
