Pune: 20-Year-Old Dies After Falling Under Tractor During Ganesh Immersion Procession In Ghorpadi

In Pune, a tragic incident occurred on Friday evening when a 20-year-old man named Vighnesh Santosh Pawar died after falling under the wheels of a tractor-trolley during a Ganesh immersion procession. The accident took place around 4 pm near Kalubai Chowk, leaving him critically injured. Pawar, a resident of Adinath Society in Ramtekdi, was reportedly running behind the moving tractor-trolley after the immersion procession.

According to the preliminary investigation by police, Pawar attempted to climb onto the trolley while it was in motion. His loss of balance resulted in him falling onto the road, and one of the wheels of the tractor-trolley ran over his head, causing severe injuries. Onlookers rushed to assist Pawar and transported him to Sassoon General Hospital for medical treatment.

However, despite the efforts of the medical team, doctors pronounced him dead before treatment could commence. Police Inspector Pandit Rajitwad stated that the preliminary investigation suggests Pawar was running behind the tractor and tried to board it before falling under the wheels. Further legal action will be taken following the postmortem examination and the completion of the investigation.
