PM Modi, Shah put CEC in charge of match-fixing elections: Rahul

The opposition leader accused the Election Commission of putting Kumar in charge of fixing elections following reports that Kumar had approached him to contest the election on the BJP ticket. Earlier, Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh dismissed the Election Commission's response to recent media revelations. Ramesh criticized the Commission's damage control mode and suggested that the agency has caused massive damage to democracy. The Commission issued a wishy-washy press note, according to Ramesh, which raises further questions about its intent, integrity, impartiality, and credibility.
