People in Oleshky Cannot Survive on Expressions of Concern Alone — Sybiha

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has urged the international community to take immediate action to provide humanitarian aid and facilitate the safe evacuation of civilians from the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in Ukraine's Kherson region. The city has been under Russian control since the onset of the war, and Sybiha reported that residents are struggling to survive due to severe shortages of food, medicine, and basic necessities.

Reports indicate that civilians are forced to resort to eating grass and weeds, while access to clean water, electricity, and medical care has become increasingly limited. Children are also among those facing these dire conditions. Sybiha blamed Russia for the humanitarian crisis and called on the international community, particularly the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to secure immediate and unhindered humanitarian access to the city.

He emphasized that international concern must be followed by concrete action, as every day matters for the people of Oleshky.
