Pakistan blast toll crosses 100 since February following latest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bombing

Since February, Pakistan has experienced over 100 fatalities and numerous injuries due to a series of explosions and suicide bombings, most notably the blast in Dera Ismail Khan on Saturday. The most recent incident involved a suicide bomber detonating an explosives-filled vehicle at a roadside police checkpoint, killing 11 and injuring at least 30.

This surge in militant attacks, including a deadly suicide bombing outside a Shia religious center in Islamabad in February, has raised concerns. Several of these attacks have been attributed to the TTP and the Baloch Liberation Army. The Islamist Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to bring those responsible to justice. The most recent incident occurred within three months of a similar blast outside a district court in Islamabad in November 2025, which followed a string of blasts in May that killed over 40 people, including children.
