MSMEDA discusses participation in Arab-African Investment Summit

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, Mostafa Hassan, the CEO of Egypt's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), held talks with a delegation from the Arab Women Investors Union. The discussion centered around potential cooperation in supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs, and women. The meeting also addressed MSMEDA's participation in the upcoming 2026 Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit, which is set to take place in Luxor from October 18 to 22.

Hassan outlined his agency's plans to collaborate more closely with civil society organizations and institutions working on enhancing the business environment. He emphasized the agency's intention to assist more small businesses in reaching export markets by establishing new domestic and international marketing channels for Egyptian products and boosting their competitiveness.

In addition, MSMEDA plans to work alongside development partners to tackle challenges that small businesses face, ultimately enhancing their ability to attract private investment. This includes the wider adoption of modern technology to increase productivity, supporting knowledge-based businesses, and assisting entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into commercially viable projects.

During the meeting, Arab Women Investors Union President Hoda Galal Yassa invited Hassan to take part in the Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit. The summit aims to bring together delegations from 43 countries. Yassa proposed potential cooperation between MSMEDA and the union, which could involve vocational training linked to employment opportunities, particularly in the industrial and tourism sectors.

Both sides discussed plans to implement entrepreneurship programs and training initiatives to improve the skills of workers in small and medium-sized businesses, with the goal of helping Egyptian products compete successfully in foreign markets.
