Minister urges police constables to serve responsibly, embrace technology

Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath Gupta addressed newly trained police constables, urging them to serve responsibly and responsibly with a spirit of service, preserving public trust in the police department. Speaking at the passing-out parade of 629 Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) trainee constables, comprising 430 from the Kurnool battalion and 199 from the Kurnool DPC Training Centre, Mr. Bharath emphasized that the term 'police' should instill fear of the law in anti-social elements while ensuring the protection of ordinary citizens.

He highlighted the rapid advancement of technology, advising the recruits to effectively utilize government-provided tools such as AI, CCTV networks, and vehicle movement analysis systems. Encouraging continuous skill enhancement, Mr. Bharath stressed the importance of maintaining the sacrifices made by parents who dedicated their children to the nation's service.

The government is committed to the welfare of unemployed youth and is formulating plans to increase police recruitment and job opportunities, he added. Commandant Deepika Patil of the APSP 2nd Battalion stated that the nine-month training program included comprehensive training in various aspects essential for modern policing. Certificates and awards were presented to the best drill instructors.

Kurnool Range DIG Koya Praveen and other police officials, along with family members of the trainee constables, attended the event. In Anantapur, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav participated in the passing-out parade of 582 personnel trained at the PTC and 101 at the DTC. Keshav emphasized that police personnel on the streets are true representatives of the government, and their conduct and performance are crucial for the credibility of the security system and government's reputation.

He noted that crime has evolved with time, particularly in the realm of cybercrime, urging the adoption of scientific methods in criminal investigations. District Collector O. Anand congratulated the new police personnel for entering active duty and urged them to perform their duties responsibly.
