Minister Announces New Cameras, Recruitments, and Dams for Islamabad

State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry announced plans to equip Islamabad with surveillance cameras and construct three dams in the coming years to tackle the city's water crisis. Speaking at a convention, Chaudhry advised against negative politics, emphasizing the importance of voting based on a candidate's performance and turning to Allah for guidance.

He encouraged voters to avoid making choices based on factors like caste, vehicle, or appearance. Referring to Islamabad's administration, he argued that the capital deserves a unique system suited to its needs, noting that issues found in a fragmented city are also prevalent in Islamabad.

Chaudhry revealed that 1,100 billion rupees worth of land has been recovered within the city. He detailed that the entire area of Islamabad will be covered with cameras, and 70 percent of the Islamabad police force is approaching retirement age. To address this, 10,000 new personnel will be recruited, with appointments strictly based on merit.

Pakistan is currently experiencing a 50 percent water shortage, but Chaudhry assured that three dams for Islamabad will be completed within three to four years. He also pointed out the city's lack of an effective waste collection system, promising to introduce an international-standard method for garbage disposal. Chaudhry highlighted that daily Metro Bus Service ridership surpasses the number of votes Islamabad receives, and remarked that a provincial government has been dispatching 1,122 vehicles and ambulances to the federal government.
