Man City confident of clearing financial charges, says chairman

Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the chairman of Manchester City, has expressed confidence in the club's ability to clear itself of 114 financial charges brought by the Premier League. The charges, which stem from alleged breaches of financial regulations between 2009 and 2018, were confirmed in an independent commission's report on 114 out of 115 charges.

While the Premier League process continues and sanctions are yet to be determined, City is planning to appeal the decision. Al Mubarak, who has served with the club for 18 years, assured supporters that the club remains confident in its innocence, stating, "Our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began."

He added that the club has several details to share that would explain its position, but the confidentiality of the legal process prevents him from doing so. The chairman also urged supporters to read the club's recent statements and emphasized that every word holds true. Possible sanctions for the club include points deduction, fines, suspension from league matches, player-registration restrictions, compensation, and expulsion from the Premier League.
