Lagos 2027: Court strikes out Oyefusi’s suit against Rhodes-Vivour, ADC

The Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Princess Abiodun Oyefusi, challenging the results of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship primary in Lagos State. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the ADC governorship candidate, announced the court's decision on his X post. The court referred to the Supreme Court's stance on internal party disputes, ruling that Oyefusi's claims were irrelevant to the ADC's internal affairs.

The legal battle arose from a dispute over the ADC's Lagos governorship primary, where Rhodes-Vivour emerged victorious. Oyefusi argued that votes in her favor were improperly transferred during the collation process. The case was dismissed due to the Electoral Act 2026, which prohibits courts from handling matters related to political party internal affairs.

Rhodes-Vivour called for unity within the ADC, urging the party to focus on its political objectives and challenge the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 governorship election. He urged members to work together to tackle corruption and ineptitude in the state. "Our focus is on delivering a Lagos that works for all and to salvage our Lagos from cronyism, corruption and ineptitude," Rhodes-Vivour stated.
