Josh Allen invites former Super Bowl winner out of retirement to join the Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have begun the 2026 season with an electrifying performance, thanks in large part to quarterback Josh Allen's MVP-level play. Allen has thrown five touchdowns, recorded zero interceptions, and even scored four rushing touchdowns in just the first two weeks. Despite allowing 31 points in each of their opening games against the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions, Allen has taken it upon himself to energize the offence, which has been tasked with overcoming a shaky defensive performance.

While the Bills have yet to make significant strides on defence, Allen had a personal message for former defensive star Ndamukong Suh, inviting him to return to the NFL with the team. Suh, who has been out of the league since last year, covering games for a UK broadcaster, recently visited the Bills in Buffalo. Allen expressed his desire for Suh to "put on a jersey for us and stop the run," to which Suh responded enthusiastically, "No one has invited me.

I’ve always had to be against you guys versus with you. I’d love to, man. Pull me out of retirement like AD [Aaron Donald]."

The Bills have been among the worst in total yards allowed per game, but their defensive performance against the run has been solid, ranking 11th with an average of 95 rushing yards allowed per game. However, the success of Suh's potential return depends on his current physical condition.
