Jay-Z accuser admits rape claim was completely false

In a statement filed in February 2025, the woman who previously accused Jay-Z of raping her when she was 13 has formally declared her allegation to be false. According to court documents, the woman, identified as Jane Doe, now states that "Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter never raped me" and that her claims were untrue. She adds that her allegation that Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs drugged and raped her at a party after the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000 is also false.

The woman further asserts that "Mr Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever."

The accuser, who was initially part of a lawsuit filed by Jay-Z against her and her lawyers in 2025, now says she never received any money from Jay-Z or his representatives and has not been paid for her latest declaration. She also denies receiving any threats from Jay-Z or his associates.

In her statement, Jane Doe explains that she saw an advert on Facebook in September or October 2024 seeking individuals with sexual assault claims against Combs, which triggered memories of her own alleged assault at age 13. She claims she was contacted by a law firm but not given a chance to review the lawsuit or authorize it before it was filed in October 2024. Moreover, she asserts that her lawyers did not conduct any independent investigation or due diligence into her claims.
