India-West Indies ODI: Free drinking water, curbs on prices for snacks at stadium

The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has made arrangements for free drinking water and price controls for snacks at the upcoming India-West Indies ODI match scheduled to take place at the Karyavattom Greenfield International Stadium on Sunday. Mayor V.V. Rajesh announced that four liters of free drinking water per person would be provided at the venue to address previous complaints about vendors charging exorbitant prices for snacks and soft drinks after water supplies ran out during a previous match.

Around 40,000 spectators are expected, with free drinking water to be distributed at 72 locations across the stadium. The Kerala Cricket Association will be responsible for distributing the water at a rate of four liters per person. The Mayor also stated that strict action would be taken against vendors found charging excessive prices for other food items.

Arrangements have been made for extensive cleaning of the stadium and its surroundings after the match, with a health supervisor assigned to oversee the operations. The Corporation has also received information about stray dogs being abandoned within its jurisdiction by neighboring panchayats, and currently houses around 300 stray dogs in its shelters.

The Mayor assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the stray dog problem.
