Hits Soybean And Urad Crops In MP’s Mandsaur, Farmers Seek Immediate Survey

Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh: Persistent rainfall in the Malhargarh region and surrounding areas has devastated soybean and urad crops for local farmers. The excessive moisture has led to root rot, causing significant financial losses for the affected communities. District Congress general secretary Anil Sharma and party leaders Ramchandra Karun and Anil Mulasiya visited the impacted fields on Saturday to assess the damage and converse with the struggling farmers.

Many of the affected farmers had to buy expensive fertilizers and seeds to replant their soybean, urad, and groundnut crops, with some having to do so multiple times. The continuous rain, coupled with disease and insect attacks, has further endangered the remaining crops. Some farmers have even resorted to using rotavators to destroy the damaged plants.

An urgent survey and compensation from the administration have been demanded by Sharma to aid the farmers in their time of need. Former district Congress vice-president Ajit Kumth emphasized that farmers are facing challenging circumstances and should be paid fair prices for their produce. Congress leader Babukha Mewati criticized the Modi government, arguing that farmers' incomes are dwindling and their debts are mounting.

District member Shyamlal Malviya expressed concern over the ongoing waterlogging, warning that it could further jeopardize the remaining soybean crop.
