HDK asks ECI to reveal facts

H.D. Kumaraswamy, a JD(S) leader and Union Minister, urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday to clarify reports of differences among the three top officials and share the facts with the public to safeguard the institution's reputation. The JD(S) is an ally of the NDA. Kumaraswamy stated that the issue was not about the significance of protests staged by political parties, but about understanding the reasons behind the atmosphere that had arisen.

He emphasized that the Election Commission should reveal the facts before the people and protect the dignity of the institution. The ECI, he added, was a responsible constitutional institution that had played a crucial role in upholding democracy in the country over the past 78 years.
