The pair's match at Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium saw them win 21-19, 21-16, overcoming any potential obstacles with ease.

In the upcoming quarterfinal, Malaysia will face either China's Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang or Thailand's Chaloempoen Charoenkitamorn-Worrapol Thongsa-nga.
