Four Jets clear waivers to join Moose

The Winnipeg Jets have successfully cleared waivers for all four players exposed to the process on Saturday afternoon. Defenceman Isaak Phillips and forwards Nikita Chibrikov, Noah Gregor and Parker Ford were all allowed to join the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. This development comes as a result of injuries to captain Adam Lowry and winger Cole Perfetti, who both spent last season with the Moose.

Chibrikov, chosen in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft, has faced multiple lower-body injuries in recent years and is still recovering from an injury sustained at the end of last season. Both Phillips, Ford and Gregor showcased strong performances during exhibition games and are now considered call-up options for the Jets. Jets head coach Scott Arniel praised Chibrikov's resilience in overcoming his injuries, stating that he has worked hard this summer.

Meanwhile, Ford was commended for coming in and making a significant impact already. Arniel also highlighted Ford's undrafted status and his ability to bring a detailed game to the team. The Jets currently have 26 healthy players on their roster, meaning three more moves must be made before the opening-day roster of a maximum 23 players is finalized on Monday.
