English golfer Tommy Fleetwood pulls out of French Open ‘due to illness’

Tommy Fleetwood, a prominent English golfer and Ryder Cup player, has decided to withdraw from the upcoming French Open due to illness. This decision was made just prior to the start of the third round on Saturday. The European Tour announced Fleetwood's withdrawal through a brief message on their website, stating that the reason was illness, without providing additional details.

Fleetwood, who was second in the second round with a score of 6-under, will miss out on his chance to compete in the tournament. As of now, Matt Fitzpatrick of England is leading the event with a total of 13-under, while Denmark's Jeff Winther is in second place, one stroke behind Fitzpatrick.
