Dubai’s population boom: More than four in five residents are aged between 20 and 59

Dubai's population has experienced significant growth, with more than four in five residents currently falling within the working-age range of 20 to 59 years. As of the end of 2025, the emirate's working-age population reached nearly 3.68 million, representing 80.34% of Dubai's total population of 4,580,300. This demographic trend saw the working-age group increase by 917,405 people over four years, from 2,762,366 in 2021, reflecting a growth rate of 33.21%.

The 20-to-59 age group comprised 2,663,498 men and 1,016,273 women, making up 72.38% and 27.62% of the group respectively. Overall, Dubai's population expanded by 1.102 million people between 2021 and 2025, growing by 31.68%. The largest age group remained the 30-to-39 bracket, with 1,397,724 residents, constituting 30.52% of the population.

Notably, the 30-to-34 age bracket was the most populous within this group, comprising 707,796 individuals, or 15.45% of Dubai's total population. The 40-to-59 age group also saw substantial growth, with the 40-to-44 demographic increasing by 169,211 people and the 45-to-49 group rising by 112,845 people, representing a combined growth of 47.54%.

Despite an overall demographic profile dominated by working-age residents, Dubai also witnessed a notable increase in its population aged 60 and above, growing from 83,177 in 2021 to 144,032 in 2025, accounting for 3.15% of the population.
