Discarded flowers from Ganesh immersions find second life in Cyberabad

Discarded flowers from Ganesh idol immersions across Cyberabad have a new purpose, as the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has implemented a program to collect and repurpose the floral waste. Over the past 11 days, the civic body has collected over 6,000 kg of flowers from designated immersion points, aiming to prevent the waste from being mixed with other materials during the festivities.

The flowers are segregated, dried, and then processed into various products such as incense sticks, dhoops, and diyas. This initiative seeks to promote responsible waste management during the Ganesh Utsavam, which has seen a total of 1,19,667 idols immersed across Cyberabad. CMC teams oversee the immersion process and manage various civic services, continuing the separate flower collection along with other field-level arrangements.
