Cleetus McFarland buys Greg Biffle's 2004 NASCAR Cup race car for $47,000

At the Mecum auction in Nashville Superspeedway, RFK Racing offered a collection of performance vehicles and motorsports artifacts, including the iconic No. 16 National Guard Ford Taurus driven by Greg Biffle during the 2004 NASCAR Cup season. The car features a Roush-built 358 cubic-inch Ford V-8 engine. Biffle secured two victories out of 19 Cup Series wins that year.

All auction proceeds benefited the Biffle Family Legacy Impact Fund. Greg tragically died in a plane crash on December 18, alongside his wife, daughter, and two others. In a Facebook post, Greg's niece, Jordyn Biffle, expressed gratitude to Jack Roush and everyone at Roush for including her uncle's car and pledging proceeds to the fund.

Cleetus McFarland, a YouTuber-turned-racer, purchased the car on Saturday. Cleetus had developed a close friendship with Greg before his untimely passing and the Biffle family had planned to visit Cleetus in Florida when the accident occurred. Jack Roush attended the auction, and Cleetus began bidding when it started at $35,000.

He raised the bid to secure the car for $47,000. Cleetus, who embarked on his racing career with Biffle as his mentor, has already made eight starts in the ARCA division and secured two top-five finishes in the ARCA East race. Despite considering giving up racing after the tragedy, Cleetus remains committed to expanding his NASCAR career.
