Calgary Stampeders beat Ottawa Redblacks 45-31

Calgary Stampeders secured a 45-31 victory over Ottawa Redblacks in a CFL game on Saturday, keeping their playoff hopes alive while Ottawa's winless season continued. Deonta McMahon was instrumental for the Stampeders, scoring two touchdowns – one rushing and one receiving. Tevin Jones and Clark Barnes also contributed with touchdown catches, while Tyreik McAllister added a rushing touchdown.

Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. threw for 422 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Ottawa's Justin Hardy and Ayden Eberhardt had touchdown catches, and Mario Anderson Jr. scored a rushing touchdown. McLeod Bethel-Thompson, playing in his second straight start for the Redblacks, completed 30 of 47 passes for 418 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted once.

Calgary led the entire game, needing a 62-yard field goal from Rene Paredes to maintain their lead in the previous game. Paredes kicked field goals from 40, 49, and 43 yards, contributing five converting points. Ottawa's Brett Lauther also contributed with three converting points from 13, 56, and 28 yards. Calgary was tied for fourth in the West Division with Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 14 points each, giving them a chance for a crossover playoff berth.

Ottawa was third in the East at 14 points, facing a tough loss that prevented them from overtaking Calgary and securing their first win of the season. The Hamilton Tigers-Cats, ranked third in the East, played against Edmonton Elks on Saturday night.
