Baxter, Patterson and Barnes rush for 100 yards, Kentucky rolls over South Alabama 45-21

Lexington, Ky. (AP) — In a commanding 45-21 victory over South Alabama, Kentucky was powered by a trio of rushing stars: CJ Baxter, Jason Patterson, and Jovantae Barnes. Together, the trio amassed an impressive 386 rushing yards and scored five touchdowns.

Baxter contributed 149 yards and the game's opening touchdown. Patterson added 137 yards and three touchdowns, including a jaw-dropping 75-yard run that tied the game at 21. Barnes had 100 yards and a score that also tied the game at 14.

This marked the first time Kentucky had three 100-yard rushers in a game since 2020. South Alabama's Jared Hollins threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns for the Jaguars, who came into the game second in the nation in time of possession and converting over 50% of their third downs.
