Artificial skeleton found during cleanliness drive in Delhi prompts police probe after BJP seeks inquiry

A skeleton-like structure discovered inside a wooden box during a Delhi cleanliness drive has prompted a police investigation. The object, found near the Kali Mandir temple, was identified as an artificial skeleton during a forensic examination, according to the Delhi Police. The discovery occurred while the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) organized the cleanliness drive ahead of the Durga Puja celebrations.

The BJP's vice-president, Rajesh Bhatia, along with other party officials, participated in the drive. They removed around 15 truckloads of garbage and debris, including 50 illegally parked vehicles, from the temple complex. The alleged skeleton was found in a scrap dealer's jhuggi named Mohammad Shakeel. The BJP raised suspicions of a conspiracy due to the proximity to the temple and the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, demanding an investigation.

Police found no suspicious materials or bloodstains near the box. The school principal stated that the old and broken items came from a school building that had relocated in 2023, and were disposed of as scrap in July. The forensic team determined the structure was made of artificial bones, possibly used as an educational tool.
