Arsenal assistant confirms Vinicius Junior was discussed during summer

Arsenal assistant coach Miguel Molina has revealed that the Real Madrid star, Vinicius Junior, was discussed during the summer transfer window. During a recent interview, Molina confirmed that Mikel Arteta's coaching staff considered signing the Brazilian footballer for the Premier League champions. The Gunners explored the possibility of signing Vinicius when his contract negotiations with Madrid were not progressing favorably.

The club saw an opportunity to acquire one of football's biggest stars and were seriously contemplating a significant summer transfer for the player. However, Vinicius ultimately decided to sign a new long-term contract with Madrid. Regarding the transfer discussion, Molina stated, "Yes, of course. Obviously, I can't ignore reality, but it was a name that was on the table, yes."

Vinicius has proven himself as one of the world's top players since joining Madrid, scoring 22 goals and providing 14 assists in 53 appearances last season. Despite his impressive performances, he failed to secure a major title for the team. In the current season, Vinicius has already scored a goal and provided three assists in seven league games under Jose Mourinho.
