Adel Al-Jubeir addresses Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends meeting in New York

In New York, Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy, Adel Al-Jubeir, addressed the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Group of Friends during a high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Al-Jubeir emphasized Saudi Arabia's dedication to promoting dialogue and coexistence among various faiths and civilizations.

He praised the alliance for its efforts in fostering mutual understanding, combating hate speech, and safeguarding religious sites and cultural heritage. Al-Jubeir outlined the Kingdom's support for these initiatives, emphasizing that dialogue, coexistence, respect for religions, and cultural diversity are vital for maintaining security and stability.

He highlighted that the 11th UNAOC Global Forum, hosted by Saudi Arabia in Riyadh in December 2025, provided a crucial platform to evaluate the alliance's progress two decades after its establishment. Al-Jubeir stressed the significance of implementing the forum's final declaration by reaffirming shared commitments to multilateral action, international law, and ongoing dialogue across diverse faiths and cultures.

He underscored that dialogue is the most effective means of preserving diversity, averting conflict, promoting tolerance, cultivating cohesive societies, and advancing peace. Al-Jubeir reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting the alliance's endeavors, vowing continued cooperation with member states and relevant partners to cultivate a culture of peace, tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect.
