Bangkok, Thailand experienced severe flooding on Saturday, affecting all 50 districts of the city, according to the Gabenor Chadchart Sittipunt. The city has received over 300mm of rain since Thursday, resulting in approximately 223 million cubic meters of water. Several main thoroughfares reached maximum capacity, with some overflowing and causing significant disruptions to communities and transportation.

Around 4,200 residents were displaced to emergency shelters, as reported by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul in a televised briefing from London. The Metropolitan Bangkok Administration (BMA) is operating pumps and hoses at full capacity, coordinating with the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department (DDPM), military units, and other agencies to manage the floodwaters and access to affected areas.

There are 233 emergency shelters with a total capacity of around 15,000 people, while nearly 40 patients have been transferred to hospitals. Schools have been used as primary emergency shelters, and 69 public health centers and 13 hospitals have been prepared to provide medical assistance, particularly for displaced patients and other vulnerable groups.

Some schools with exams will close on Monday to reduce travel difficulties for parents, students, and teachers during the ongoing flood response. Meanwhile, Suvarnabhumi Airport reported that flooding in the surrounding areas did not affect operations, with incoming and outgoing flights continuing as usual. Passengers advised to allow extra travel time when reaching the airport, according to the Airport's Customer and Community Relations Department.

International passengers are advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure time, while domestic passengers should arrive at least two hours earlier to ensure sufficient time for check-in and security procedures.
