15 major junctions in Nellore to be upgraded at ₹5.26 crore

The Nellore Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister, Ponguru Narayana, recently inaugurated the foundation stones for upgrading 15 major traffic junctions in the city. Along with the installation of fountains at these locations, he paid respects to notable personalities by laying garlands at statues of former Chief Minister N.T.

Rama Rao, B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, A.C. Subba Reddy, Swamy Vivekananda, Puchalapalli Sundaraiah, Zakir Hussain, and Indira Gandhi, placed at various junctions. The other 14 junctions, where foundation stones were already laid, are expected to see fountain installations soon.

Addressing the crowd, Narayana also announced plans to modernize 17 government schools in Nellore, with work ongoing at eight schools and three others already developed to international standards. Furthermore, preparations are underway to inaugurate three more schools.

In a broader context, Narayana mentioned that the Chief Minister has allocated ₹50,000 crore for the development of 123 municipalities in the state, and projects worth ₹23,000 crore have already commenced. He further stated that the government is working towards providing tap connections to every household by December.
