West Asia looks to tie the knot with India

Wedding planners and hoteliers in Dubai and other West Asian locations are anticipating a resurgence in bookings for Indian destination weddings, following a series of cancellations in the marriage season earlier this year due to concerns over the Iran conflict. Industry professionals reported receiving inquiries for the first quarter of 2027, with some local authorities offering incentives to make the destinations more attractive.

In the UAE emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the local tourism authority provides complimentary visas for site visits, free parking for chartered aircraft carrying wedding parties, and other perks such as dedicated planner incentives and complimentary room upgrades. The peak wedding season in India begins in November and continues until February-March, with Dubai-based wedding planner Vaibbhav Anju Arora noting a surge in demand from India, the UK, and UAE residents.

Ras Al Khaimah's destination tourism development authority has seen a strong increase in inquiries for Q1 of 2027, particularly around auspicious dates between January 15 and March 15. Oman remains the largest international destination for Indian destination weddings, although the upcoming season is expected to be softer due to wider West Asian uncertainty.
