Vietnam Airlines signs digital transformation agreements with Visa and AWS

During a visit to the United States by Vietnam's President To Lam, Vietnam Airlines signed two digital transformation agreements with Visa and Amazon Web Services (AWS). These agreements aim to enhance cooperation in payments, travel, technology and data. Le Truong Giang, a member of the Vietnam Airlines Board of Directors, stated that passengers today expect seamless experiences that go beyond the flight itself.

The partnership with Visa will evolve Vietnam Airlines' Lotusmiles frequent-flyer program into a broader loyalty platform, offering enhanced benefits across various sectors such as travel, lifestyle, and airport services. Visa's Country Manager for Vietnam and Laos, Dang Tuyet Dung, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that it will help Vietnam Airlines respond to the diverse needs of customers while promoting Vietnam and key air routes in strategic markets.

On the other hand, the agreement with AWS will support Vietnam Airlines' digital transformation and artificial intelligence initiatives. The focus will be on AI, digital transformation, inflight connectivity, and operational efficiency, with applications across various aspects of the airline's operations. Tedd Evers, Global Partner Leader for Travel and Hospitality at AWS, emphasized that the collaboration aims to personalize the passenger experience and enhance service excellence while supporting Vietnam Airlines' ambition to become a 5-star carrier.

These agreements are part of Vietnam Airlines' strategy to strengthen international partnerships and expand its digital capabilities, reflecting the airline's evolution beyond traditional air transportation.
